In Iraq
Feb. 4, 2007 -
Arrived in Iraq just a few hours ago. Not at my final destination, Falujah, yet, but I will be there in a few days. Right now I'm just chilling at an air base while I wait for my next flight. The next flight will take use to Falujah via helicopter at night.
The first thing I did after dropping off my bags was go to the chow hall, and let me tell you it was even better then the last one. In this huge building was every type of food I could possibly imagine and it all looked so good. My only regret was that I couldn't eat it all. Anyways after chow I went to this rec center/phone center and am using the internet now to write this blog. I only have a few minutes left, but I'll try and get on tommorow.
Till then,
Dave

Hi Dave! It's Elizabeth here. Eat good while you can! Pretty soon it will be MRE or bust! Tony says conditions have improved substantially since he was last in Kuwait. Consider yourself very lucky! Sounds like you're doing pretty good so far. Hopefully, it will be an easy tour. Tony would like to know if you took his advice and selected the M-16 over the pistol. I would like to know what kinds of things you want or need so we know what to buy when we go shopping. Tony said we can try to sneak you in some porn but we can't guarantee a real, live woman. I have no comment. Take care, be safe, and stay alert. Remember always that you're in a war zone. Until next time...Semper Fi.
Hi Dave, got your voicemail before you headed to Iraq. Glad you are enjoying the food there. Take care of yourself.
Hey, Fallujah, that base is not too shabby. I spent some time there. Maybe its better than it was 2 years ago. Take care over there, and best of luck to you. Take some photos, will ya? Haha.
